Good night buddy!

After painting and choosing the right bedding, here is how our little guys room turned out:

As you can see he's for sure got enough clothes until he's 6 months. Thanks to all the sweet gifts we've been either given at showers or Sean's coworkers gave as hand-me-downs. So great!

And my sister-in-law recommended buying diapers, so we are covered maybe for the first 2 months of his life, just maybe!

Long time no blog!

Yes, my bad... I'm so sorry ladies! It's hard to check Facebook let alone think of something witty to write on my blog... I'm terrible I know!

Ok, with the apology out of the way let me get to what this particular blog is about.

Moxibustion

I had never heard of it until this Monday. Sean and I are turning into parents who will do whatever it takes to make sure their son is safe and OK. And here's a story to prove it.

Monday I called our Dr. after I had an off feeling, and Collin hadn't been as active moving around. Sean and I drove to the office in silence as if I was in full on labor. Once there, I was hooked up to a monitor to look at his heart rate and my contractions within a 20 minute period. Once we heard the heart beat, we instantly relaxed. After taking a look at Collin in the ultrasound he was doing great, but had decided to become breech again. At 31 weeks he was breech but since then had flipped down. With me being 36 weeks we knew Collin was running out of room in there to get back down. The Dr. explained 2 choices cescarian or inversion (sp?). The inversion would have to be schedule this week and I had not really heard much about it. But basically the Dr. pushes the baby down by pressing on your belly. That didn't sound fun, and cecsarian is not our first choice.

As we left the office one of the nurses mentioned Moxa this acupuncture herbal thing that "you just burn by your toes and your baby flips down". Crazyness, but we were like - sure! Where can we find this. She told us to go to Apothecary Tinctura, wtf???
How do you even spell that? Well I think that was it!

Long story short, their supply was out so we picked up our Moxa at the Chinese School of Medicine. Yeah, we laughed all the way home.

I googled Moxa Breech baby and here's the link that came up for YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtLGfT4JAsY

Basically you do burn it down by your toes, but it's a little more specific than that. 2 times a day 20 minutes at a time.

And yes, in 4 days from doing this treatment our little guy had turned down. No longer breech for now, but we have plenty of Moxa on hand just in case!!!

And after telling our Dr. that we did this treatment, she wanted all the details... very cool.
